Bulgaria's 2012 maize crop dropped 26%
Bulgaria's 2012 maize crop dropped 26% on year to 1.65 million tonnes due to the summer drought that hurt crops around Europe, the agriculture ministry said on Thursday after the harvest was completed. The unfavourable weather also cut sunflower seeds crop by 5.6% to 1.36 million tonnes from a year earlier, the ministry said in a statement.
