Albania adopts anti-corruption action plan

Albania has adopted an action plan to prevent and combat corruption for the next 12 months, the domestic Shqip newspaper reported.

The action plan involves reviewing procedures and activities and analyzing measures to be taken to punish corruption in each institution individually.

The aim is a progressive and sustainable reduction in corruption, boosting the integrity of institutions and promoting good governance and transparency, the newspaper said.

It is supported by a 2.1-million-euro project financed by the European Union's executive Commission and the Council of Europe.
