Cvetkovic thanked the United States for its support to Serbia’s EU integration process, stressing that Serbia expects the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU to be ratified soon, as well as that it will soon acquire the EU candidate status.

Speaking about economic cooperation between the two countries, the Serbian Prime Minister said that despite the fact that the United States invested nearly $1.6 billion in Serbia and is one of the largest foreign investors in Serbia there are possibilities for more US investment, particularly in the areas of information technology, biotechnology and renewable fuels.

Voinovich and Shaheen stressed that Serbia has made great and visible progress in recent years and that stability of Western Balkans is extremely important not only for the EU, but also for the whole world.
