Serbia's PTT posts 2009 revenue rise to 3.9bn dinars, plans to hand stake in Telekom Srbija to gov't

State-owned PTT Srbija (Serbian Postal, Telegraph and Telephone Service) posted revenue of 3.9 billion dinars (39 million euros) in 2009, up 1.2 billion dinars (12 million euros), its director, Goran Ciric, said.

Ciric told a news conference that PTT Srbija is planing to invest 4.3 billion dinars (43 million euros) in 2010 with 1.9 billion dinars of the total (19 million euros) destined for construction of new buildings in the cities of Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis.

"By the end of the year PTT Srbija plans to transfer ownership of its 80% stake in the the state telecommunications company, Telekom Srbija, into government hands," Ciric added. He did not elaborate.

PTT Srbija (www.posta.rs)  currently owns 80% of Telekom Srbija (www.telekom.rs) , a telecoms service provider, with OTE (www.ote.gr) telecoms of Greece holding the remaining 20% of shares.
