Cyprus police suspect financial motives in the murder of the chief executive of one of the island’s largest media groups and have arrested three people in connection with the incident, CYBC state broadcaster reported.
Andis Hadjicostis, CEO of Dias Media Group, which runs a TV and radio station, a newspaper and a host of magazines was gunned down outside his home in a Nicosia suburb on the evening of January 11.
Police have ruled out any personal or political motives for the murder of Hadjicostis, 41, and are focusing their investigations on financial motives.
“Police will interrogate the three suspects with the aim of finding out who was behind the murder. It is possible that we will make further arrests later,” a police spokesman told CYBC.
