Hürriyet – Having secured the support of foreign investors in Turkey to share their experiences with their compatriots, Turkey’s official investment promotion agency now targets US companies looking for new growth markets.
Executives of US companies operating in Turkey and leaders of key business associations are accompanying the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey (ISPAT) team, led by President Ilker Ayci, in a series of meetings to brief potential investors on Turkey’s investment environment and numerous advantages offered by the fast growing, strategically located country.
Dubbing the high level executives that accompany ISPAT for a series of meeting with US companies, the “National Team of Investment Promotion”, President Ayci said that international companies operating in Turkey were contributors to the country’s remarkable success during the last decade.
“ISPAT is actively promoting Turkey’s business environment and investment opportunities all across the world. This time we are adding executives from foreign companies in our investment promotion efforts to give potential investors a firsthand briefing from their own perspective..”, the ISPAT President remarked.
Aside from President Ilker Ayci and Principal Advisor Hasan Pehlivan, the ISPAT team includes Citi Turkey Country Officer and the Chairperson of the American Business Forum (ABFT) in Turkey, Serra Akcaoglu, Deputy Chairperson of Turkey's International Investors Association (YASED), Akin Kozanoglu, President of PepsiCo's South East Europe Region, Eugene Willemsen, Chairperson of Demsa Holding, Demet Sabanci Cetindogan, General Manager of Procter & Gamble Turkey and the Deputy Chairperson of ABFT, Tankut Turnaoglu and the Chief Economist at Koc Financial Services and Yapi Kredi Bank, Cevdet Akcay.
The ISPAT team will hold talks with business associations and multinational companies in Washington after the first stop in New York. Another round of investment seminars and meetings by ISPAT will take place in the UK, Germany, France and Japan in the coming months. IIT
