Serbia's Prime Minister Ivica Dacic attended the reception of a new generation of students at the Megatrend University in Belgrade and stated that his goal, as well as that of the Serbian government, is to provide them a job once they graduate. Addressing the first-year students, Dacic said that he will be happy once every one of them has a job because the future of Serbia depends on that, noting that the unemployment rate among the young is already 50%.
He referred to the plea he sent two years ago to Provost of the Megatrend University Milorad Jovanovic to introduce free tuition, explaining that he wanted to give children whose parents are in a difficult financial situation a chance to study.
We reached the stage where only those who have money can get education and health care, and that is not just. That is why I am glad that Provost Jovanovic accepted my plea and continued that practice this year and I hope will do it the next year too, the Prime Minister underlined.
The enrolment of first-year students was also attended by State Secretary of the Ministry of Health Vladimir Djukic, State Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sport Nenad Borovcanin, student and Olympic taekwondo champion Milica Mandic and swimmer Nadja Higl, who works as an assistant at the university.Government
