Due to higher values of output of sawlogs and pulpwood in Slovenia, the total value of output of the forestry industry reached 366 million EUR in 2012, ie. 13% more than in 2011.
Slovenia's Value of output of the forestry industry, which equals to the total value of forestry goods output and forestry services output, increased by 13% in 2012 compared to 2011 (it reached 366 million EUR). Value of forestry goods output (341 million EUR in 2012) was higher mainly due to the higher values of the production of sawlogs and pulpwood. Standing timber contributed the largest share in the total value of forestry goods output, ie. 49% in the same year. Forestry services contributed almost 7% of the total output of the forestry industry.
Increase of the value added affected by the movement of output and intermediate consumptionGross value added at current prices, which was influenced by the increase of output and intermediate consumption, increased by 11% in 2012 in comparison with the previous year and reached 230 million EUR. Intermediate consumption increased by 16% in comparison with the year before and it amounted to 135 million EUR in 2012.
Factor income, which also includes subsidies on production, increased by 12% in 2012 in comparison with the previous year and reached 198 million EUR. The value of subsidies on production slightly declined.
Slovenia's Operating surplus i.e. mixed income in current prices amounted to 165 million EUR in 2012. Employment in forestry, which is due to seasonal work expressed in annual work units (AWU), varied since 2000. In 2012 it amounted to 5,364 AWU, which is 1% less than in the year before.
