Serbia's Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport agreed today that the Serbian team is well-prepared for the process of screening of compliance of legal and economic systems of Serbia with the European standards. Dacic and Davenport agreed that this creates the basis for negotiations of Serbia’s accession to the EU, which should begin no later than January.
The Prime Minister said that preparations for local elections in Kosovo-Metohija are underway and that it is necessary for Serbs to go to the polls in the greatest number possible in order to successfully form municipal authorities in the communities they live in.
He underlined that Pristina authorities should implement all the agreements made in Brussels and to enable displaced persons to participate in the election process, and the participation of Serbian representatives in the work of election commissions.
Davenport said he disapproves of the cancellation of the Pride Parade and Dacic underlined that the Serbian government will continue dialogue with representatives of LGBT population about all current activities. Government
