Cyprus Ministry of Finance has issued the 12th decree for the Enforcement of Temporary Restrictive Measures on Transactions of Foreign Banks in Cyprus.
According to the decree, issued Friday following the consent of the Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus, foreign banks can open current/sight accounts, provided that the said current/sight account will only be used for the servicing of a loan.
The decree applies for a 35-day period, until the 24th of October.
According to statements by the Finance Minister, Harris Georgiades, the restrictive measures will be lifted in the first months of 2014 reports Famagusta.
