Sale of Telekom, new Labor Law and the Law on Planning and Construction are the measures which the reconstructed Serbian government should adopt, said Sinisa Mali, an adviser for economy and finance to the First Deputy Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic. Mali pointed out that the Serbian Government cannot leave Telekom to fight the competition which invests more as well as that with the current ownership structure, surrounded with the strong competition, Telekom cannot survive in the long run.
The country does not have funds for investments to compete with Telenor and VIP, Mali said for the weekly NIN. “We must urgently change Labor Law and the Law on Planning and Construction which are key trouble spots for the arrival of new investors”, he said and pointed out that the employment issue is the biggest one because Serbian industry at the moment is producing only a half of what is used to produce two and a half decades ago. “We need an institution through which we will provide current liquidity and refinancing of the existing obligations which are the biggest problem of the majority of Serbian companies. It is the only chance for Serbian companies to revive”, Mali said. SIEPA
