Bulgaria is to enable the option of so-called free flight planning in November, announced Dian Dinev, director of Bulgaria's air traffic authority reports Novinite.
"Free planning of flight routes would allow each flight to choose the shortest way to its destination, saving fuel, decreasing the harmful emissions released into the air, and thus making the airspace transport more effective," explained Dinev in a meeting with Frank Brenner, the Director of EUROCONTROL.
In an official statement, Bulgarian Transport Minister Danail Papazov informed that Bulgaria has registered a considerable growth of nearly 50% larger air traffic volume handled for the last 10 years. The minister added that the prices of air services has decreased by 35% for that period.
