In 2012, enterprises in Slovenia in retail trade, wholesale and commission trade generated EUR 24,792 million of turnover, which is 1.4% less than in 2011.
Slovenia's retail trade turnover in 2012 amounted to EUR 12.2 billion. In 2012, enterprises in Slovenia generated EUR 12,186 million of turnover from the sale of goods in retail trade, which is 1.3% less than in 2011. As regards commodity groups, the largest share of turnover was generated by sale of non-food products (42.3% or EUR 5,152 million), which is almost the same as in 2011. Commodity group food, beverages and tobacco followed with 28.2% or EUR 3,435 million, which is 1.4 percentage points more than in 2011. Wholesale turnover in 2012 amounted to EUR 12.4 billion in Slovenia. In 2012, enterprises in Slovenia engaged in wholesale generated on the domestic market EUR 12,428 million of turnover from their trade activity, which is 1.5% less than in 2011. More than half of turnover in wholesale was generated by the sale of non-food products (56.7% or EUR 7,047 million, 0.5 of a percentage points more than in 2011). Commodity group food, beverages and tobacco followed with 17.8% or EUR 2,218 million, which is 1.1 percentage points less than in 2011.
The commission trade turnover in 2012 amounted to EUR 177 million, which is almost 7.0% less than in 2011 reports the statistical office of Slovenia.
