In July 2013 the Base Interest Rate (BIR) was 0.02%. It declined by 0.14 percentage points on July 2012, while it increased by 0.01 percentage points compared to June 2013. The LEONIA Reference Rate for July 2013 was 0.02%, decreasing by 0.06 percentage points on the same month of 2012. Compared to July 2012, the 1-month SOFIBOR Reference Rate declined by 0.49 percentage points to 0.52% and the 3-month SOFIBOR – by 0.96 percentage points to 1.18%. The yield to maturity on three-year Bulgarian government securities on the secondary market decreased by 0.44 percentage points on July 2012 to 1.56% and that on five-year Bulgarian government securities – by 0.20 percentage points to 1.83%. In July 2013 the long-term interest rate for convergence assessment purposes (LTIR) was 3.46%.
