In August 2013, Slovenia's consumer confidence indicator increased by 4 percentage points compared to July 2013. The increase was due to more optimistic estimations of consumers about the financial situation of household over the next 12 months, the general economic situation in Slovenia over the next 12 months and the number of people unemployed over the next 12 months. The values of these indicators increased by 4 percentage points compared to the previous month. The consumer confidence indicator was 2 percentage points higher than in August 2012 and also 2 percentage points above last year’s average.
In August 2013 five out of six expectation indicators, in Slovenia, increased compared to July 2013. Only the value of the indicator »major purchases over the next 12 months« decreased. Four of the current and past situation indicators also increased; compared to the previous month only the values of the indicators »prices change over the last 12 months« and »suitability of the moment for major purchases« decreased.
Consumers are more optimistic about the suitability of the moment for savingThe value of the indicator »suitability for saving at present time« increased in August 2013 compared to the previous month by 6 percentage points.
