Wizz Air announced the 2nd aircraft for its (FYR) Macedonian base at Skopje airport. The new Airbus A320 aircraft will be delivered in Skopje on 16 April 2014 and bring the total fleet investment in Wizz Air’s (FYR) Macedonian base to USD 160 MLN.
The new aircraft will support operations of a total of 13 Skopje routes and increase seat capacity in 2014 to over 680,000 thousand seats. This shows that low fares lead to tourism and job creation and stimulate business with foreign markets as consumers really want access to low cost air travel. Wizz Air announced more weekly flights on the existing services to Basel Mulhouse, Dortmund, Eindhoven, Gothenburg, Malmo and Munich Memmingen. The airline also announced three new services to Brussels Charleroi, Frankfurt Hahn and Paris Beauvais which all will initially operate two times per week and start from 16 April 2014. "Wizz Air is known to stimulate air traffic in 36 countries by offering very low fares, and we clearly see that (FYR) Macedonian consumers are as enthusiastic about our low fares as millions of Wizz Air passengers in Europe and beyond. We stay committed to the (FYR) Macedonian market and the development of the infrastructure of low cost air travel, and in response to the high demand for Wizz Air’s low fares I am thrilled to announce a new aircraft to our Skopje base. The arrival of the 2nd aircraft will bring Wizz Air’s total fleet investment in Skopje to over US$ 160 million**. This will stimulate job growth and benefit consumers as we look forward to bring more low fares to (FYR) Macedonia.” - said John Stephenson, Executive Vice President of Wizz Air. Wizz Air
