The Croatian government has proposed lowering this year's budget expenditures by 874 million kuna (115.2 million euro) to 123.6 billion kuna, a finance ministry presentation indicated on Thursday, SeeNews reported.
The budget revision bill, forwarded for approval to parliament, adjusts downwards the projected consolidated budget deficit by 0.5 percentage points to 3.4% of gross domestic product (GDP). The deficit is now seen at 11.5 billion kuna in 2013, the presentation showed.
The move comes as a result of a downward revision of the 2013 growth forecast for the country's GDP to 0.7% from the previous 1.8%.
Croatia's preliminary consolidated budget deficit in 2012 stood at 11.1 billion kuna which, equivalent to 3.4% of GDP.
