In the 4th quarter of 2012 almost 530 million SMS messages were sent in Slovenia, 92% of them by private users. The number of SMSs sent increased by 25% in comparison to the 4th quarter of 2011.  In the 4th quarter of 2012 over 10.8 million MMS messages were sent, 88% of them by private users. The number of multimedia messages sent increased by 14% in comparison to the 4th quarter of 2011. 

In 2012 over 1,816 million SMS messages in Slovenia and over 38.9 million MMS messages were sent. The number of SMSs sent in 2012 increased by 22% and the number of MMSs sent by 23% over 2011.  In 2012 over 63 million hours of outgoing traffic from mobile networkIn the 4th quarter of 2012 over 987 million minutes or almost 16.5 million hours of total outgoing traffic from mobile networks were recorded. 73% of traffic was generated by private users. National traffic represented 98% and international traffic 2% of outgoing traffic of mobile telephony.  In comparison to the 4th quarter of 2011, the total outgoing traffic from mobile networks increased by 2%; national outgoing traffic increased by 3%, while the international outgoing traffic decreased by 10%. In the same comparison the outgoing traffic to other mobile networks and from mobile to fixed networks increased by 11% and 8%, respectively.In 2012 over 63 million hours of outgoing traffic from mobile network were registered. Compared to 2011, the total outgoing traffic from the mobile network increased by 2%. The national outgoing traffic increased by 1 percentage point more, i.e. by 3%.More mobile network subscribers 

At the end of the 4th quarter of 2012 in Slovenia, there were over 1,609,000 mobile network subscribers or 4% more than at the end of the 4th quarter of 2011, 73% of them private.  In 2012 over 17.5 million hours of outgoing voice traffic from fixed telephone networkIn the 4th quarter of 2012 over 266 million minutes or over 4.4 million hours of total outgoing voice traffic from fixed locations was recorded. 61% of outgoing voice traffic was generated by private users (households).In comparison to the 4th quarter of 2011, the total outgoing voice traffic from fixed locations decreased by 10%; the same is true for national outgoing fixed traffic, international outgoing fixed traffic decreased by 9%. In the same comparison the outgoing traffic from fixed to mobile networks increased by 2%.  

 

In 2012 over 17.5 million hours of outgoing voice traffic from fixed telephone network were registered in Slovenia. Compared to 2011, the total outgoing voice traffic from fixed network as well as national and international outgoing fixed traffic decreased by 10% .  More VoIP connections in SloveniaAt the end of the 4th quarter of 2012 there were over 762,000 telephone connections on fixed locations, of these 73% of private users (households). Among connections 52% were based on VoIP-technology.In comparison to the 4th quarter of 2011, the total number of VoIP connections increased by 8%.More broadband Internet connectionsAt the end of the 4th quarter of 2012 there were over 517,000 Slovenian broadband Internet connections, 85% of them used by private users (households). Over a half of them were xDSL connections.At the end of the 4th quarter of 2012, there were 4% more broadband Internet connections than at the end of the 4th quarter of 2011.
