UNDP project "Employment and secure energy supply for the use of biomass in Bosnia and Herzegovina" and the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia  has made a significant contribution to the establishment of the legal framework in the field of biomass heating.
After the translation process and after public debate standards (related to solid biofuels - EN 14961) are adopted by the Technical Committee of Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Mining Section, were published in the Official Gazette of Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as on the website of the Institute and came into effect. By adoption of these standards, Bosnia and Herzegovina incorporated into the national legislation solid biofuel standards that are applied in countries of the European Union, which are standardizing production and regulating the market of solid biofuels in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
