The total number of motor vehicles. in Turkey, registered were 17 143 099 by the end of January; while cars had a share 50.9%, followed by small trucks 16.5%, motorcyles 15.5%, tractors 8.9%, trucks 4.4%, minibuses 2.3%, buses 1.4% and special purpose vehicles 0.2%. Looking at 123 019 motor vehicles registered in Turkey for January, cars took the first place with the ratio 61.3%, followed by small trucks 24%, motorcycles 5.8% and trucks 3.7%. Minibuses, buses, tractors and special purpose vehicles constituted 5.2% of the registered motor vehicles. In January, the number of motor vehicles registered to the traffic increased by 70.4% compared with December. Cars, minibuses, buses, small trucks, trucks and special purpose vehicles increased by 77.4%, 43.7%, 91.6%, 135.1%, 118.6% and 62.4% respectively. Motorcycles and tractors decreased by 8.1% and 52,3%. By the end of January, among 8 721 678 registered cars, the share of LPG-driven cars is 41.2% in Turkey followed by gasoline-driven cars with 33.6% and diesel-driven cars with 24.6%. The ratio of the cars with unknown(2) fuel type is 0.6%.
The distribution of trademarks for the 75 391 Turkish registered cars in January is Renault 14.9%, Volkswagen 10.3%, Opel 9.5%, Fiat 7.4%, Hyundai 7,3%, Ford 7.1%, Dacia 5.9%, Toyota 5%, Peugeot 3.7%, Nissan 3.7% and the other trademarks 25.1%. Source; Statistics Office
