Serbia has a great chance to get a date in June for the start of negotiations on joining the EU- Source

Balkans.com Business News Correspondent - 12.03.2013

Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Suzana Grubjesic said that Serbia has a great chance to get a date in June for the start of negotiations on joining the EU.
In a statement to portal Telegraf, Grubjesic pointed out that if our country does not get a date for the start of negotiations, the public support to European integration will drop even more.
The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that the decision on setting the date depends on the negotiations with the provisional institutions of government in Pristina and these negotiations will be continued regardless of whether Serbia gets a date in June or not because they are conducted in order to solve the issue of Kosovo-Metohija.
She emphasised that Serbia's interest is to find a stable and sustainable solution to the Kosovo issue that will not be at the expense of the Serbs in Kosovo.
Whether Serbia will get a starting date in June will be clearer after the April report of the European Commission and EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, Grubjesic noted.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that our country is institutionally already ready for talks, even much more than many EU member states at the time when they began with membership negotiations. Source: Government
