Serbia moves IT to the top of its strategy list

Serbia's Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic presented, on Friday,  at CeBIT fair in Hannover a programme of state support for the development of IT industry that the Serbian government adopted.
Dinkic said that the document will help Serbia to be the most attractive country in the region for investment in the IT sector, and also announced support to domestic software producers.

The Serbian Minister said that information technology industry is one of the top priorities of our overall reindustrialisation strategy. 

He noted that the programme will provide that contributions and payroll taxes are by one-third smaller for all those who work in the software industry as of the second half of this year.

The state will provide funds for the so-called start-up loans, he said and announced that two large meetings which will be attended by the largest investors in the United States (from the famous Silicon Valley) and from Western Europe in April in Serbia.

The Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) has organised for the tenth time participation of Serbian companies in the world biggest fair of information and communication technologies – CeBIT, at which 79 companies from our country participated in the period from 2003 to 2011.

The companies that will be presented at the Serbian national stand are - 2D Soft, ASW, Belit, ComData, Essential Dots, HTEC and Omnicom Solutions. Source: Government
