The First Start up weekend in Serbia will be held 22-24 March 2013. HRH Crown Prince Alexander brought this event to Serbia in order to kickoff his entrepreneurship program.

Having taken into account the numerous applicants and the interest that it awoke in affluent entrepreneurs to participate and attribute to it we can already proclaim it successful.

After being organized in over 100 countries with over 57,000 entrepreneurs. Creative minds ranging from entrepreneurs to graphic designers will be gathering at The Royal Palace in Belgrade for a crash course of taking an idea and turning it into a business.

Startup weekend will be organized under the auspices of Crown Prince Alexander II Foundation for Education and Culture, Ministry of Trade and Communications. Creative minds — ranging from entrepreneurs to designers will implement their ideas into the creation of new successful business  during the last weekend in March in only 54 hours.

Tech-entrepreneurship in Serbia is developing - Yet there exist companies that where built from zero by young enthusiasts who are now leaders in their own fields.

A great example is Manage WP that has increased the number of employees ten times within a year. Mr. Vladimir Prelovac the founder of WP will share his experience along with other colleagues and experienced experts and entrepreneurs from Serbia and abroad  with Startup weekend participants.

"I am convinced that high tech entrepreneurship is one of the ways for a country to get back on its feet. Information technology enables talented people access to any market in the world, fast idea check and potentially earn big money. The recent government of Serbia initiative  for the IT sector encouragement  as well as Start up Weekend organized by Crown Prince Alexander Foundation for Education provide a needed boost to IT entrepreneurs and I am happy to be a part of it, sharing my experience with the new generation," Mr. Prelovac said in honor of taking part in the Start up weekend.

Startup Weekend Belgrade is an intense 54 hour event where a community of entrepreneurs, startup enthusiasts, developers, designers, marketing gurus and anyone interested in building a business will come together over the course of a weekend to share ideas, form teams, and launch a startup. This is a perfect opportunity for meeting with potential partners who will help you make your idea come to life, but also for already launched startups to improve and to get some additional finances for their businesses.

Crown Prince Alexander Foundation for Education and Culture and its partners have been working behind the scene to ensure that this event provides not only inspiration, but the resources required for building and launching a company.

Whether you have a business idea or a skill that is necessary in building a successful startup, this event is one that aspiring entrepreneurs should not miss. The first day will start with concept pitching and team building. Teams will be formed around concepts and various skills that are brought to the table leaving the remainder of the weekend to mind mapping, strategizing and building a real business.

There will be knowledgeable and successful entrepreneurs in attendance to inspire, share and help the teams throughout the weekend. Different field experts will be available for teams to discuss and help the teams in some issues that might occur. Mr. Vuk Guberinic-executive director of Private Capital Association, Mr. Chris Farmer, Mr.Andre-Peir Buzdum, Mr.Petar Vojinovic, Mrs. Danica Radisic and other influential people from business world will be taking part as trainers and mentors.
