Turkey's Undersecretariat for the Defense Industry (SSM) Undersecretary Murad Bayar on Wednesday said the current skilled labor force in the country's defense sector must be given further training to improve the quality of employees.
Speaking at a press conference held to introduce the “Defense Industry Technologies Certification Program” in Ankara, he stated that the average worker in the sector is under the age of 30, which may seem like a disadvantage but that the sector will be able to benefit from these employees more productively in the next 30 years. “In the coming years, we will be seeing the desired level of technological innovations coming out of Turkey.”
Noting the misconception that education in the field of technology should be undertaken in the West, he stressed that the aim of the investments is to produce such information in the country, adding that the infrastructure of the sector must feed from qualified Turkish graduates.
