A Russian metals company said Tuesday it has sold its five companies in Romania - four of them loss-making steel mills - for a total of RON230 lei ($70), dpa reported.
Mechel transferred the shares of Ductil Steel Mechel, Campia Turzii, Mechel Targoviste, Mechel East Europe Metallurgical Division and Laminorul to Romania's Invest Nikarom.
The Moscow-based group had suspended work in the Romanian mills in November, citing unfavourable trends in European steel markets and weak demand for their products. Mechel had projected the losses of the Romanian mills at 2.4 billion rubles.
