Energy consumption in Slovenia dropped by 6.4% between 2008 and 2011, according to data presented by Eurostat. The drop in Slovenia is above the EU average at 5.7% reports STA.
Slovenia's energy dependency was at 48.4% in 2011, slightly under the EU average of 53.8%, Eurostat said.
The highest energy consumption in 2011 was recorded by Germany (316 million tonnes of oil equivalent, which was -7.7%), France (260 million tonnes, -4.6%), the UK (199 million tonnes, -9.4%), Italy (173 million tonnes, -4.8%) and Spain (129 million tonnes, -9.4%).
