Bulgaria will consider cancelling CEZ AS's power- distribution license after a financial investigation into the local units of the largest Czech utility. The government will decide whether to start the revocation procedure in several days, after thousands of Bulgarians marched in 10 cities and blocked main roads demanding lower electricity bills. (Bloomberg)
CEZ owns 67% share in three distribution companies (the companies were bought at CZK 9bn) and one power plant in Varna (at CZK 6bn). CEZ announced that the situation is too much better than in Albania. According to Bulgarian energy minister the significant increase in bill resulted also from number of days that were billed, from 30 to 40 days, due to the holidays. Bulgaria contribution to CEZ _s EBITDA is just 2%.
