The Bucharest city hall will introduce a new tourist circuit on the capital city’s Floreasca and Tei lakes. The project “Planning tourist circuit on Floreasca and Tei lakes” will receive EU financing, under the Regional Operational Program 2007-2013, managed by the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration. According to the Bucharest city hall, the project is worth RON 88.35 million, with the non-repayable financial assistance standing at RON 23.51 million, and the implementation period spanning 28 months.
The project aims to develop the natural and man-made patrimony represented by the Floreasca and Tei lakes, together with the nearby green areas, through tourism activities in accordance with the principles of sustainable development, on an area of about 11 ha. The project entails building spaces for cultural, sports and leisure activities measuring 260-sqm. multifunctional hall, with a capacity of 360 seats, two amphitheatres, each with 240 seats, six tourism-port type jetties and 12 jetties for small pleasure boats, five platforms and three pavilions for cultural and recreational activities, as well as three pools. Similarly, bicycle tracks, 832-sqm playgrounds for children and five lifeguard stations will also be built.
