Zarubežnjeft continues to invest in Bosnia-Herzegovina's Republic of Srpska

Balkans.com Business News Correspondent - 12.02.2013

The President of the RS Milorad Dodik, after a meeting with representatives of the Russian company “Zarubežnjeft”, said that the joint commitment for the success of the project together with the oil refinery and gas stations in the RS has been confirmed.
Dodik said that at the meeting with the newly-appointment Director of the company “Zarubežnjeft” Sergej Kudrjašov they spoke about the possibility to organize additional production in the RS for certain projects based on crude oil, such as in the area of petrochemicals.
The RS President said that they would speak more about this at the end of March, when the Director of “Zarubežnjefta” comes to Banja Luka. He noted that Kudrjašov was appointed to the position one month ago, and that he earlier served as the Deputy Minister of Energy in the government of the Russian Federation.
‘’It is important that he confirmed the continuation of cooperation on revitalizing refineries in Brod and Modrič. There is a huge interest and optimism from the Russian side in terms of the realization of this project”, said Dodik.
He said that Sergej Lavrov, the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, with whom he met on Friday, was told in details about the project and of the places where the refineries are found.
‘’It is obvious that the highest levels of the Russian government have enough information on the project, which is strategically important for us. It is conspicuous that for the Russian side it is one of their priorities’’, added Dodik.
