In January, the Serbian budget deficit amounted to seven billion dinars, which was twice as low as the one planned for this month, the Finance and Economy Ministry announced. The January budget was also by 3.4 billion dinars lower than in the same month in 2012. The Budget Law stipulates that the total deficit for 2013 should amount to 121.9 billion dinars, which constitutes 3.3% of the gross social product, which is twice as low as the deficit realized last year. Most of the tax incomes refer to VAT amounting to 36.4 billion dinars, followed by incomes recorded on the basis of paid excise taxes, amounting to 16.4 billion dinars.
