FYR Macedonia's situation in construction improves in Q4 y/y

Balkans.com Business News Correspondent - 08.02.2013

According to the data from the State Statistical Office, the managers of the business entities engaged in construction assessed that the business situation in the fourth quarter of 2012 is less satisfactory compared to the previous one, but more satisfactory compared to the same quarter of the previous year. The assessment of the financial situation of their business entities is that it is better compared to the previous quarter, as well as compared to the same one of the previous year.
The expectations for the number of employees for the next period are at the same level as in the previous quarter, while the assessment of the present situation with orders is considered more satisfactory compared to the previous quarter. The quantity and quality of the business entities' mechanization and equipment are unsatisfactory. The selling prices are expected to decrease in the next period.
The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the improvement of the present construction activity were: increased material expenditures with 24.2%, competition in the same sector with 13.4%, increased financial expenditures (interests) with 13.4%, and no demand with 11.9%.
