Serbia's Minister of Economy Mladjan Dinkic and Minister of Agriculture Goran Knezevic agreed on Tuesday with officials of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development that the Serbian government should request a USD 100 million line of credit for investments in agricultural infrastructure, ANSAmed reported. The funds would increase the output in Serbia's agriculture, the Ministry of Economy stted after the meeting, where Dinkic and Knezevic spoke to Director General of the Fund for Development Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi and Project Manager Rashed Al Kaabi. According to Dinkic, the credit line would be used for two purposes, to clean up the existing network of irrigation and drainage canals and to help farmers and agricultural companies. "It would be long-term loans for buying equipment, with a 10-year maturity, grace period of 3 years and very low interest rate," Dinkic stressed.
