Heads of EU member states’ missions express full support to Montenegro's reform process

Balkans.com Business News Correspondent - 31.01.2013

Montenegro's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Igor Lukšić participated in the meeting of heads of missions of EU member states and EU Delegation to Montenegro, which was organised on occasion of the presentation of Irish presidency of the EU Council.
Heads of EU member states’ missions expressed their full support for the continuation of the reform process, hoping that Montenegro, during the Irish presidency, will carry on its reform momentum and the opening of new chapters.
DPM Lukšič voiced satisfaction over the clearly defined Irish presidency’s priorities, which place particular emphasis on intensive economic reforms, investments, creation of new jobs, sustainable development and advancement of relations between Europe and the rest of the world. The fact that the EU enlargement process takes high position in the Irish presidency’s agenda is of high importance for the overall accession process, the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out.
He underlined that the EU integration is a strategic priority and that Montenegro will demonstrate its accountability in pursuing reforms in line with the set deadlines. In that regard, he informed the EU representatives about the dynamics of establishing Montenegro’s negotiation structure and drafting the National Accession Programme.
