Romania's Syscom records 30% turnover rise in 2012

Ovidiu Posirca - Business Review - 29.01.2013

The net turnover of Romanian firm Syscom 18, specialized in industrial automation and metering system, rose by 30 percent year-on-year to EUR 13 million, sustained by exports in the African and Middle East regions, which accounted for EUR 3 million.

This year, the company plans to increase the turnover to EUR 15 million, out of which EUR 4 million would be generated by exports.

“2013 has started quite well for our company, at least regarding the exports, which lately represent the engine of growth for our business,” said Ion Andronache, the president of the Syscom 18.

Syscom 18 has signed earlier this month contracts worth EUR 2 million in Bulgaria and Iraq. It has delivered industrial metering equipment to Bahrain and Algeria, based on contracts signed in 2012.

The company will supply the metering component for the 25km gas pipe that interconnects Bulgaria and Romania. The pipe will have an annual capacity of 0.5 billion cubic meters.

The energy sectors in Iraq, Bahrain and Algeria have registered a fast development in recent years and offer business opportunities for specialized companies, including the Romanian ones, according to Syscom 18.
