In line with unfavourable macroeconomic trends and bad predictions for this year, Croatia's GfK consumer trust index in December 2012 dropped to 31.47 points from 34.15 points in September, the GfK market research centre has said, Hina reported.
The index was based on a survey of 1,000 Croatian citizens, ranging from 0 to 100, with values above 50 representing an upward economic cycle.
The GfK consumer trust index has been compiled for the last seven years, recording its highest 55.82 points in February 2007, while its value last December was the lowest ever.
The index component measuring inclination to spend dropped last December to 36 points from 40 in September, confirming the recession mood among consumers.
The continued disinclination to spend points to household deleveraging.
The index component measuring the current financial situation dropped four points.
Expectations of future income remained unchanged from the previous index.
