Serbia's Ministry of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning stated that the visit of Minister Milan Bacevic to China is of great importance for the development and prosperity of the country, the mobilisation of resources and revival of the economy as a whole.
The goal of the visit are preliminary negotiations regarding implementation of project of the Belgrade-Thessaloniki navigation channel, which should connect via waterways Serbia, Macedonia and Greece with Central Europe, the Danube countries and the rest of the world. The implementation of this important project, apart from linking the above-mentioned countries via waterways, would create conditions for Serbia’s development in the field of transport and energy. The construction of irrigation systems on shores of the River Morava would improve conditions for the development of agriculture and the economy as a whole, the statement issued by the Ministry says.
