Romania in 2012 drew European structural and cohesion funds worth 8.1 billion lei, 2 billion lei more (about 700 million euros) compared with 2011, when it drew 6.1 billion lei, according to the data presented on Sunday on Realitatea TV private television channel by Minister Delegate for Budget Liviu Voinea, Agerpres reported.
On the other hand, the advance payments and co-funds granted by the state to European projects last year totaled 17 billion lei, 4 billion lei more than in 2011.
'We have co-funded by one billion euros more in order to attract more European funds and we drew by 700 million euros more European money,' Voinea said.
In the budget for 2013, the European funds to be draw are estimated at 11.2 billion lei and the co-funds and advance payments for European projects are estimated at 21 billion lei, the Minister Delegate for Budget pointed out.
