CPI COICOP is defined as a measure of average change of retail prices of goods and services used for personal consumption. Prices of these products and services in December 2012 in relation to November 2012 decreased by 0.4% on average. Consumer prices in December 2012, compared with December 2011, increased by 12.2% and average annual growth amounted to 7.8%.
Observed by main groups according to destination of consumption in December 2012 in relation to the previous month, the greatest increase of prices was noted in the groups Health (1.3%), Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (1.1%), Restaurants and hotels (0.9%), Clothing and footwear (0.6%), Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels and Education (by 0.4% each). Decrease of prices was noted in Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-1.5%) and Transport (-0.6%). Prices of other products and services mostly remained unchanged.
