Serbia signs agreement on $800 million loan for railways

Serbian Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic signed in Moscow with Russian Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov the Agreement on the state loan worth $800 million for the needs of the Serbian railways Zeleznice Srbije.

Dinkic said that the loan, the biggest one the Serbian railways ever received, will be used for the modernisation of the railway corridor 10 and for the reconstruction of the Belgrade-Bar railway. The first project to be financed from this loan will be the Belgrade-Pancevo railway and the works should start in spring this year. The Minister of Finance and Economy said that both Serbian and Russian companies will take part in the modernisation of the Serbian railways and added that the loan conditions are very favourable.
