The number of tourists in 2012 in Sarajevo Canton has significantly increased. According to data of the Tourist Community of Sarajevo Canton, 256,268 tourists  (81,1 % are foreign, 18,9% are local) visited (10.8% more than in 2011), 504,929 overnight stays (12.9% more than in 2011)

The largest number of tourists came from Croatia (17.4 percent), Turkey (13.9 percent), Slovenia (8.1 percent), Serbia (4.9 percent), Germany (4.4 percent), Italy, Kuwait, Austria, South Korea and the United States.
