Serbia's Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic announced that a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Belgrade will soon discuss a medium-term structural reform plan.
Dinkic held a lecture on Zlatibor Mt on "Economic policy of the government and fiscal consolidation" and said that that the arrival of the IMF negotiating mission regarding a potential new arrangement with the financial institution is expected at the end of January or beginning of February. According to Dinkic, the IMF delegation will discuss mid-term plan of structural reforms, given that it is important for our country to reduce its debt and implement this type of reform. He stated that the Serbian government decided to cut the budget deficit twice as it wants to reduce huge inherited expense for interest rates and to guarantee a stable future to Serbian citizens.
