“Western Balkans is part of Europe, but the countries still need to invest effort on their path to Europe and it takes greater determination for reforms'', Tanja Fajon stated, when member of Board of Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament asked about reports on progress of Western Balkans countries made by European Commission. Fajon assessed that reports on progress are realistic reflection of the current situation in those countries and are encouragement for the countries to continue their path towards EU'', Tanja Fajon's office reported. She added this is also a clear message that the enlargement process is ''alive'' and that only concrete steps that show life of the citizens is improving can be considered a step forward.
''I am concerned with the poor progress in BiH and the fact that promises on high-level dialogue have not been fulfilled. Politicians obviously did not have enough will to implement urgent reforms last year. Citizens are already feeling consequences of politicians' bad decisions. Internal situation in the country has blocked its path to Europe in great extent. I hope the political elite will bring the country back on its right path'', Fajon said. ''Western Balkans it at its turning point. It is up to the politicians how fast they will move towards Europe'', Fajon warned.
