Serbia's Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic has announced the works on the construction of gas interconnection between Serbia and Bulgaria, from Nis via Dimitrovgrad to Sofia.
Dacic said at a news conference after talks with Deputy Director of the Directorate General for Energy of the European Commission Fabrizio Barbaso that the project is worth between €100 and €120 million, of which €62 million is needed for Serbia. The Prime Minister said that the EU will donate €10 million for the project, while the rest will be financed by Serbia under arrangements with other European institutions. The signing of the memorandum relating to the implementation of the project is expected in November, during the oil forum in Belgrade, he announced.
