Five Balkan countries plus Italy have joined forces to boost cross-border cooperation and food self-sufficiency in the Adriatic region, STA news agency reported. The project, dubbed Agronet, was launched at the beginning of March and will run until the end of 2013.
Agronet joins 11 partners from six countries, with the lead partner being Italy's Finest, a financial company. Their goal is to promote economic cooperation with Eastern European countries, especially in the distribution of agricultural and food products. They'd also like to establish a permanent network for distribution and services in food production lines in the Adriatic area.
At the presentation March 21 launching Agronet, the Slovenian partner in the project said it will to revive cooperation among Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and Italy.
