Balkans.com: Please briefly present Urban Bug magazine to our readers.
Urban Bug: Urban bug is a magazine dedicated to alternative and urban culture. The magazine contains many useful and unusual information interesting for the urban population of Serbia.
Our topics cover different areas - from travel, music, film, fashion and culture in general, to concerts and events throughout the country and region, as well as the universal issues that the younger generation of readers is faced with.
Balkans.com: Do you foresee growth in your business sector and why?
Urban bug: Journalism is a sector for which there is always interest. The fast way of life, as it is today, requires people to search for fast and affordable information.
Urban Bug strives to follow the modern and urban way of life, and for that reason our publications are printed in small format, which can be placed in the pocket, adequate for a quick glance in every opportunity. Available now for our readers is also an on-line edition (www.urbanbug.net), with all the advantages of the Internet media. In this way I believe that we have established a good interaction between the web and printed publications.
Balkans.com: Which industries or sectors do you find most promising in terms of growth and sustainability?
Urban Bug: The most promising is certainly the IT industry and telecommunications. Information technologies are already integrated into segments of society and business, and communications are also a necessary part of an active and successful business. Therefore I predict constant progress and development for this branch, regardless of the financial crisis and other negative social factors.
Balkans.com: Our readers are investors already present or about to launch their business in the region. What advice do you have for them?
Urban Bug: The Balkans is still an instable market in transition, but I believe it is certainly interesting for future investors, because it represents a market that isn't saturated and in which all possible investment opportunities are not exhausted. For these reasons, I would recommend to all prospective investors to start investing in the Balkan countries as soon as possible.
Balkans.com: You mention "Urban Culture" and "younger generation". Does this mean that your target group is only the younger population?
Urban Bug: Urban Bug readers are educated, business people, students, amongst many others. Thanks to the attractive content and size, it is very popular among generations of 15 - 45 years of age.
The gathering of readers who have the same spheres of interest, regardless of ethnic, religious and racial affiliation is the core principle of our magazine. All of these, framed with entertaining - separates us from similar magazines.
Balkans.com: The Festival of South East European Music Event (SEEMO) in Sofia has awarded Urban Bug its prize for the best music magazine in the region. Can you tell us more about that?
Urban Bug: For the second consecutive year, at the festival SEEMO in Sofia , Urban Bug won the title of the best magazine devoted to dance music in the region for 2009. We are very proud of this award, considering that the competition comprised other prominent music magazines such as: DJ Mag, Mushroom Magazine, Go Guide, Freeze, Sunete and others.
The award has presented us as the regional leader in the industry which we follow. We will do our best to acknowledge that trust placed in us.
