Monarch Airlines is launching 14 new flight routes across It

Monarch Airlines is announcing a significant expansion into the Mediterranean during summer 2012 launching 14 new flight routes across Italy, Croatia and Greece. The new routes are part of Monarch’s expansion strategy revealed in June this year that is focusing on its scheduled services and expanding its network to new leisure destinations across Europe. There will also be two additional Airbus A320 aircraft being added into Monarch’s fleet from March 2012, which is the start of its expansion plans that will see the fleet grow from 30 to around 40 aircraft. Swift Air to commence flights from Chicago to Croatia`s capi

Swift Air has been issued with a license to commence flights from Chicago O’Hare International Airport to Zagreb Pleso Airport. The service, which is being chartered by the Fly Air Plus tour operator, will commence on June 3, two weeks before the same airline commences services to Belgrade. The Chicago – Zagreb service will operate every Friday until September 14, using the Boeing 767-200ER. The airline will operate flights from Chicago with a similar departure time as the service to Belgrade, while the departure time on the return leg will differ slightly, leaving the Croatian capital on Sunday morning. Serbia: Kraljevo Morava Airport on track

Serbia’s newest civilian airport, Morava, located near the town of Kraljevo in Central Serbia is on track to be opened by the end of the year. Morava Airport is located on the grounds of the Ladjevci military airport base, heavily damaged during the 1999 NATO bombing. Now, the Serbian Government, Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, local authorities and USAID are investing millions into the construction of a new control tower, passenger terminal and the extension of the existing runway. The daily “Politika” reports that work is currently under way on the construction of power grids, sewerage and water systems for the new airport. This is expected to be completed by April. According to the CEO of Belgrade Airport, Velja Radosavljević, the construction of a terminal building, access roads, aprons and platforms should begin this spring.
